The ABC program 20/20 will be airing a piece about the emotional lives of elephants and will spend some time at The Elephant Sanctuary. It will air this Friday (tomorrow), July 25 at 10:00 pm EDT, 9:00 CDT. Hope you can watch it and I will be interested in your reactions.
July 25 update: I just learned that if there is a breaking news story, the piece on elephants may be postponed to another time.

I just tuned in to ABC--looks like the elephant story is running after all.
I got my Elephant Sanctuary newsletter this week--I just treasure the stories there, even though they are sometimes sad.
Hi Christine! I was a day late and a dollar short. I missed the 20/20 story last night. I will go to ABC website and see if they have something there to watch.

Hi Lisa, I'm intrigued! I'll stop by your blog (I'm sorry, I've not been a good commenter lately). Hope you got to see the video on ABC's website. I checked and it is up and running. Many parts though were very hard to watch. In fact, I had to shield my eyes and actually press the mute button a couple of times when they were showing undercover footage of elephants being beaten, one actually at the El Paso Zoo!! No wonder these poor gentle creatures eventually lash out and afterwards everyone wondering why??? Duh....

I watched some of the show--but the cruelty toward elephants part just broke my heart--and I had to turn it off. I just can't STAND it that people are cruel to these magnificent animals.
Maybe I shouldn't watch it. I missed it, of course. Christine, my heart swells for elephants and all creatures as great as they are...
I enjoyed your last comment on my post about keeping house. Enjoy your two weeks... I want a week sometime in September. It will be heaven.

Hi Christine...I'm too late to see the show, but after reading the comments, I don't think I would have been able to watch the whole thing either. Sounds like you are on vacation..I hope. Enjoy your special time away. I haven't updated my blog..but the baby was born last Friday, July 25th..a little girl. She had to be delivered via cesearean and has hip dysplasia. I'm afraid to post about it..but I'm waiting for pictures from my brother to put on my blog.
