Meet Willy Mo

All right, I know I should be chasing these guys away and I usually do, but this guy was just too cute. I almost didn't post this video because of my geeky background talking but hey, that's me. I talk that way to all the animals here, the cats, raccoons, possums, birds, tent caterpillars, etc.

My friends Paul and Joy treated me to a Washington Nationals game a few weeks ago (in their new fancy schmancy stadium I might add). I was telling them when the time came to get another cat I had to think of a good name. We started going through the names of the Nationals. Joy wanted me to name it "Lastings". There is a Nats player with the first name of Lastings! What kind of a name is that? My favorite was Willy Mo! Now that's a name. And, since I won't be getting a new cat anytime soon, I decided to name this little visitor Willy Mo.

Well, Possumlady, if you can't talk geeky to a raccoon, to whom could you talk that way?
Love the video. I agree he is a cutie.

I know raccoons are pesky and destructive and eat seed like little pigs, but they sure are cute! Neat video. And hey- I talk to the yard bunnies that way too!

Hey there! Great video. He is so cute. I'm impressed that you've learned to post videos to your blog. How close were you to Willy Mo? He sure didn't seem to mind being filmed one bit! Cat59

Hey Cat59! Welcome back. No, the raccoons and I are old friends/nemisissss. They really aren't afraid of me one bit. I was just a couple feet from Willy Mo. I've noticed a number of times when the food bowl is empty of cat kibble on the front porch, I'll get a raccoon or two looking in my storm door wondering when the heck I'm going to fill'er up again.

Oh, I'm giggling at that video. I talk to the birds and furry friends the same way, Christine! He's cute and did you see the way he was looking at you? So curious? Just before you turned the camera off he filled both hands with your expensive nuts and raisins. Love that name...

That's not geeky, that's perfectly normal. What a beautiful little raccoon. We don't have them here so for me it's a bit like you looking at a koala, I suppose. He's gorgeous and the video was great, not least because I was able to hear your voice!
