It's Possumlady's Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to me! At 9:14 a.m. on August 25, 1959, my mom gave birth to a baby girl. Just under five pounds I would have normally been kept in the hospital, but since my mom already had four kids, the doctor figured I'd be better off at home. With 3 girls already and one boy, I was supposed to be named Christopher John. Oh well. I'll just post some photos and I apologize for the blurry ones. They are all photos of photos and my camera just doesn't do well with that.

Hmm, I don't know. I think I was 2 or 3 here with my mom and brother.

Catching a sunny near my aunt and uncle's resort in northern Wisconsin.

Ahh, the old homestead at 170 on the West Side of St. Paul.

We lived about 6-8 blocks from Cherokee Park in St. Paul and made many field trips there.

First communion. I remember feeling SO grown up.

Good times at my friend Janet's family cabin in Wisconsin in the late 70s. Left to right: Possumlady, Kathy G., Peggy C., and Janet M.

Probably my most favorite photograph. This was taken in Tanzania outside of Oldavai Gorge at a Masai village. It was very crowded and I kept feeling this thing against my leg. I finally looked down and saw the cutest baby goat! I wanted to take it home with me.

A night out watching the Washington Nationals with good friend Paul and Joy and crazy Adam with the loud shirt. Yes, I'm the hobbitesque one.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

No matter if they are photos of photos, they're great! I laughed at that snowsuit you wore while eating a banana :o)

I hope you are having a wonderful day and did something very special for yourself. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday! Thanks for sharing the photos. I didn't know you were such a small baby. You crazy Minnesotans--eating a banana outside in the winter! Love the photo with the baby goat. Hope you had a great day!

Thanks everyone! Hey, just because it's below zero doesn't mean you have to cancel picnic plans!! I was just noticing how BIG that banana was.

Becky, yes I remember that matching outfit. I really don't remember ever dressing the same except for that outfit. It was a floral print with greens, yellows and orange. And, yes, we did have flapper type long orange beads. And, don't forget the cream colored fishnet hose!! Man I hated the way those hose felt. Maybe that is why I've designated Possumlady Place a pantyhose-free zone!

Thanks Dorothy! I'm sorry to hear about your cats. Is it a urinary blockage? My cat Sweet Pea has FUS (feline Urinary syndrome) and is prone to crystals. He has been blocked three times and it is horrible to see them in so much pain (not to mention expensive). If your cats are getting crystals due to low acidity, I can't recommend Drs. Foster and Smith Urinary Acidifier highly enough! After Sweet Pea had 3 episodes in less than 3 years, he has been symptom-free for over 3 years now since I've been using it.

Hi again PL...The end of summer is becoming busiest for me..I'm just now checking your blog to see a reply to my comment. Yes Bunky had struvite crystals..he's the youngest and was not eating the prescription C/D food we give the other cats. He and Nick (who had a UTI and was blocked, not crystals)..are recovering nicely. I'm not sure if struvite crystals are acidic or alkaline, but if they're acidic, I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the info!!
